In the face of climate change and increasingly hot summer season, in many houses and apartments owners decide to install home air conditioning. This is the only way out if we want to comfortably spend time at home during hot weather. What are the advantages and disadvantages of such a solution?

Home air conditioning: how does it work?

Several years ago, having air conditioning at home was a kind of novelty – most people did not see the need to equip the apartment in such a system. However, recent years have shown that global warming is a fact, and people need to find a way to function in difficult conditions caused by high temperatures. Since then, all kinds of air conditioning systems have gained popularity, which can be found in office buildings, public institutions, etc. Installing air conditioning in homes is also becoming more and more popular.

Operation of an air conditioner

The operation of a home air conditioner resembles that of a refrigerator. It has two heat exchangers: an evaporator in the inner part and a condenser in the outer part. For proper operation, the system also needs a compressor, an expansion valve and fans forcing air around the heat exchangers.

The working medium in the device is freon circulating between the evaporator, from which it takes the heat, thus removing it from the room, and the condenser, to which it transfers it, taking it outside the building. In this way, we get the effect of cooling the air in the room.

Types of home air conditioners

On the market there is an increasingly wide range of devices that are designed to reduce indoor temperatures. How to choose the right equipment for our needs? It is certainly not easy. In stores you will find, among others:

  • portable air conditioners – they are a good solution for people who need a mobile solution; however, you should take into account the fact that, compared to the stationary ones, they are much louder, and at the same time less efficient; they work best in small rooms. their undoubted advantage is that their installation does not require permission from the housing association or cooperative (in the case of apartments in blocks);
  • stationary air conditioners – this is definitely an increasingly popular solution; its installation, however, requires expertise, so it is necessary to use the help of a company that is difficult to install air conditioners; at the moment, this solution is the most effective, both in single-family houses and apartments. Stationary air conditioners provide high efficiency with a relatively low noise level.

Where is the best place to install an air conditioner?

The best solution is to be able to use the air conditioner in all rooms. In this case, you should opt for a multisplit device. If this is not possible, then you need to consider in which room we care most about cooling the air. The choice usually falls on the living room or bedroom, with more often indicated the latter room. This is not surprising, since sleeping during hot weather can be extremely troublesome.

The device is usually mounted under the ceiling to allow the mixing of hot and cold air. It is also important to properly locate the temperature sensor so that reliable readings reach the device.

Advantages and disadvantages of home air conditioning

Without a doubt, a home air conditioner is a device that greatly facilitates functioning on particularly hot days. To be 100% satisfied, it is necessary to use it properly and take care of its technical condition. You should often clean the air inlet and outlet to the device, because it is there that dust accumulates. The filter in the device should also be regularly cleaned or replaced.

This is enough when it comes to burdensome duties related to the use of air conditioning. However, its advantages include, among others

  • obtaining optimum room temperature during hot weather,
  • reduction of humidity in the room,
  • removal of unnecessary pollen and allergens from the air, which is particularly important for allergy sufferers,
  • reduction of the risk of multiplication of bacteria and fungi in the room.

Durable and solid PVC windows
Choosing the right windows is quite a challenge. On the market you can find many models made of different materials In connection with this in recent years more and more popular began to enjoy the wooden windows, but this does not mean, however, that those made of PVC went completely away. They still have many advantages which speak for their purchase and installation. What are they? Here we discuss them Why are PVC windows the most popular choice? The popularity and ubiquity of PVC windows results first of all from their relatively low price - in comparison with other materials. At the same time they still provide very good parameters, for example those related to thermal insulation or soundproofing. In addition they look good regardless of the architectural style in which the building was constructed and are available in many colors to choose from to make it easier to match them in terms of style to the facade of the building or its surroundings. That's why they still haven't fallen out of the market in spite of high competition from wooden windows. 4 main advantages of PVC windows The above mentioned advantages of PVC windows are not the only ones. Apart from that you can also enumerate their four most important features, which speak for the purchase of just such models High resistance PVC windows are extremely resistant to various atmospheric factors. They are not destroyed under the influence of high and low temperatures or intense sunlight falling directly on their surface. Additionally, thanks to the fact that the material from which they are made does not absorb moisture, they are also resistant to mould and mildew and prevent the development of insects Long lasting durability Another advantage of PVC windows is their durability, which can be up to 50 years, thanks to which replacing windows with just such models can solve the problem associated with this element of the building structure for the entire generation of the family Excellent tightness In addition, PVC windows are also characterized by excellent acoustic insulation, or the ability to suppress sounds from outside the building. Therefore, they are recommended for installation in particular where there are busy traffic routes behind the window, playgrounds or other places generating high levels of noise. This parameter is also not without influence on the thermal insulation of PVC windows, which affects the reduced inflow of air from outside. This feature is extremely important especially during the heating period, because it has a positive effect on heating bills Easy care The last of the key advantages of PVC windows is the fact that in order for them to present themselves impeccably, apart from occasional cleaning of frames, they do not require almost any care, in comparison with wooden models, which should be painted protectively. Moreover, their cleaning itself does not require the purchase of specialized agents either. All you need is warm water with dishwashing liquid, a soft cloth and glass cleaner to restore their original splendour and cleanliness How to take care of PVC windows? In spite of the fact that after being installed in buildings PVC windows require almost no user's interference in their construction in order to fulfil their task efficiently, sometimes there are situations in which they need some attention. Such an eventuality may be a slight lowering of the window frame in the first year of its use. However, then it is enough to adjust them with a wrench to be able to enjoy their full functionality again To sum up, PVC windows are one of the best choices in case of buildings located in noisy neighbourhoods as they provide excellent acoustic insulation. Moreover, they don't require any complicated maintenance or upkeep and are guaranteed to last up to 50 years. All this combined with a low price makes them worth taking an interest in, choosing window fittings not only for houses but also for public buildings
