Convenience and functionality are some of the most important aspects that govern our lives, especially when it comes to interior design. Unfortunately, not everyone has the opportunity to live in large and spacious interiors. Often we have to somehow learn to live in cramped quarters and also cope with their arrangement. What kind of door to choose for a small room to make it nice and practical?

There are several proven ways to make a practical solution, as well as optically enlarge a cramped apartment and small living or utility spaces. Among the simplest are bright colors on the walls, white, ash or beige furniture, as well as mirrors. It is also helpful to decide on one type and color of the floor, thanks to which we will visually avoid dividing into smaller areas. Will we also succeed in this art thanks to choosing the right doors? Of course!

Glazing

In cramped, and therefore often not lighted rooms it is worth to bet on glazed doors, thanks to which additional light will get into the interior. Depending on the level of privacy that we want and can afford, we choose the size and arrangement of glazing. They do not have to be transparent, in fact they should not. In our opinion, strong, milky glass should work perfectly here. Thanks to this, the door will gain lightness and the whole arrangement will gain character.

Sliding doors

The smaller the room, the more precious is every centimeter of space. Many owners of cramped apartments know how difficult it is to fight for almost every extra millimeter. And this is where sliding door systems come in, which often turn out to be our salvation. Traditionally opened doors need additional space, so that we can open them comfortably. This problem disappears when we have sliding doors at our disposal. They are installed in a cassette system, which consists in hiding the door in the wall. This solution requires additional effort but the effect is really worth it. We can also place a special track on the wall, on which the door will move, and which can be hidden, for example, behind a closet or a sofa, where it will not disturb us and take up additional space. This solution is easier to install, especially if we want to make changes without additional renovation and forging of walls.

Bifold doors

We have an impression that this is a little bit forgotten type of doors, whose time of glory was in the 90’s. However, it is an excellent option that will work in tight rooms. They owe their name to the fact that their surface is divided into two or more parts. This construction is made possible by spring hinges that maintain the correct position of the wings until they are closed again. This is another solution thanks to which you do not have to worry about finding additional space for opening the door.

Doors without rebates

This is an option for minimalists who care about almost complete concealment of the door. They are installed with invisible hinges, thanks to which they “blend in” with the wall and create a uniform surface. They are perfect for cramped hallways. It’s a budget option to make your dream of a hidden room come true.
